Absolute is operating as a recruitment agency for the supply of permanent positions. Our Newport client is seeking a Production worker to work in their Corrugating area of the business.Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties:Ensure health & safety of yourself and all other personnel Possess a can do attitude Take active role in Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work including identifying need for review and implementation of corrective actions Report any absence to the TeamLeader as sick agreement Agree the shift objectives with Team Leader or Wet End Leader at start of shift Feed-back any problems to the Team Leader or Wet End Leader Help control the speed of production in order to minimise waste and quality problems whilstmaximising output.Ensure operating to agreed speeds and settings Co-ordinate response to breakdowns and inform the Team Leader, Wet End Leader or Main Controller where necessary Ensure potential problems with machinery are reported to Team Leader, Wet End Leader or Main ControllerEnsure high standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times Take breaks when production allows and Team Leader agreesWork as a team Fill in all appropriate documentation required in your daily tasks Take on any additional training required to complete your daily tasks Be flexible to work wherever required across site if trained and competent Complete quality checks asrequired Drive clamp truck when requiredGeneral Ongoing Duties:Training of operators Help implement all new Standard Operating Procedures Ensure shift handovers are carried out with opposite numbers from next shiftAble to stand in for other people if trained and when required Work a reasonable amount of overtime if required Key Skills & Experience Have basic skills and operating knowledge of in house Corrugator, with basic experience of running various aspects ofthe machineSufficient technical knowledge of the process and machinery to understand key technical issues Work efficiently in your team being self-motivated and interacting with others when required Flexible and adaptable, with a can do attitude to change and bringabout improvementsMust be customer focused Must be a competent communicator and be able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organisation Ability to understand production data, analyse trends and take appropriate corrective action Train to drive a forktruck and clamp truck if required.
