Job Description

IT Security EngineerUp to £50,000 per annum + bonusNewport - fully remote with travel to office twice a monthDo you have a passion for IT Security Are you interested in working for an organisation that actually saves lives If so, I have the right position for you!My client is a world renown organisation within the healthcare industry that offers live-saving services. Due to continuous growth, they are currently seeking to hire a IT Security Engineer to join their growing IT department.Working alongside the Head of IT, the security engineer will be responsible for implementing network security policies and procedures at the organisation as well as all other aspects of IT security.Main responsibilities:

  • Global responsibility for managing the IT Security Program, and the delivery of the program.
  • Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defences are present for each network resource.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the organisations Cyber Security Accreditations such as Cyber Essentials.
  • Performing vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying, and defending against threats.
  • Analysing security requirements and recommending improvements.
  • Advising on the configuration of, and supporting security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
  • Training staff to understand and use security protocols
  • Ensure technical implementations and timelines are aligned with ongoing business needs and based on best practices.
  • Direct and indirect support of IT service desk and ticket management as an escalation point.
Experience:
  • Preference to a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or studying towards either.
  • Strong skills in the following technologies (Azure AD Hybrid, GPOs, Intune, Cisco FWs/Switches, Anti-malware/AV, MimeCast, O365 Security)
