Job Description

These exciting opportunities are being offered on a Hybrid working pattern with your base in the centre of NewportClient DetailsMy client is the NHS Local Health Board that is responsible for delivering the Service in Gwent.DescriptionMy client, the NHS body for Gwent is seeking 2 highly skilled Deputy Finance Business Partner to join their Finance Department based in Newport City Centre. As the Deputy Finance Business Partner, you will play a vital role in providing professional financialadvice and support to budget holders within the 2 separate Divisions to help achieve financial targets. This is a full-time, permanent position with a contract of 37.5 hours per week.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Business Partner Accountant team, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Provide senior Finance support to the Business Partner Accountant and other senior members of the Scheduled Care and Medical Divisions.
  • Prepare consolidated divisional financial reports, including graphical illustrations, for managers on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Oversee the year-end financial accounting requirements for delegated areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain integrated financial and non-financial systems to support reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to address recommendations and ensure appropriate assurance.
  • Lead the development of future-period plans, forecasting, and identification of savings.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of the financial ledger for the Scheduled Care and Medical Divisions.
  • Produce monthly reports and dashboard metrics for the Health Board and the Scheduled Care and Medical Divisions.
  • Develop local bench marking data to inform business decisions and Divisional objectives.
ProfileRequirements:
  • Education: Degree level or equivalent.
  • Certification: Fully qualified (CCAB body or CIMA) accountant.
  • Work Experience: Substantial experience in a finance department, preferably with budget holder interaction.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills, ability to plan and prioritize work, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of NHS finance and procurement processes, generally accepted accounting practice, and financial management theory.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrates integrity, objectivity, drive, and commitment to high standards.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle Financials and iProcurement system or similar systems.
  • Previous experience maintaining and enhancing an accounting system.
  • Experience working in the NHS.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.
