Job Description

Decarbonisation Manager Permanent Opportunity via BRCJob: Home Energy and Carbon Manager Location: Newport/Swansea (Agile working) Sector: Housing Sector Salary: £43,103 Hours: Full Time - 37 hours per week In this job youll manage the home energy survey programmes across existing stock and develop, and manage the development and delivery of energy efficiency and carbon reduction projects. Youll also research and acquire grants and will monitorand report on performance against strategies and delivery plans. You will be part of the Asset team working alongside a number of Asset Surveyors and Property experts. Main Responsibilities - day to day:

  1. To develop, manage, coordinate and implement the energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of the existing housing stock, increase energy efficiency and minimise the risk of fuel poverty to customers.
  2. Manage the delivery of energy and carbon reduction projects from inception to completion using a mixture of in-house staff, external consultants and contractors.
  3. Oversee the collection of data that is accurate and current and use the information to feed the energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategy, and develop plans for the creation of investment programmes which fit within forecast business plan parameters.
  4. Ensure sound analysis of retrofit solutions is undertaken to ensure they are fit for purpose, whole life affordable, and customer focused using opportunities to lever in external grant funding wherever possible.
  5. To ensure the HAs home energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategy remains current, makes the most of opportunities to lever in external funding and keeps pace with technological advances within the sector.
Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will be a qualified building surveyor or qualified in another relevant property discipline and will have specialised in asset management, particularly in the area of energy efficiency and retrofit decarbonisation. This role requiresexpertise in asset management, energy performance, budget management and carbon reduction strategies across diverse housing stock. You will be an experienced people manager, project manager and used to working effectively across-departments. Youll also befamiliar with the Welsh Housing Quality Standard and other property regulations, understand our reporting obligations and associated compliance. It will also be essential for you to have detailed knowledge of funding and grants related to carbon reductionand how to successfully obtain those grants.Benefits and Culture:Location: This role can be home based but within a commutable distance of South Wales, as youll regularly attend site meetings and office meetings in the Newport or Swansea offices.Annual leave starts at 26 days from 1st April 2022 (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 30 days with length of service
