Job Description

As we prepare for winter, the UK’s testing capacity is growing. Put your previous experience to valuable use and support the Covid recovery efforts to help reopen society and the economy.This opportunity for Data Scientists requires individuals with experience processing large scientific data sets. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • analysis of sample data and correct tracking and recording of the analysis in the appropriate LIMS database.
  • processing large data sets accurately, identifying anomalous results, analysing non-clinical data as part of process optimisation
  • escalating any quality control issues as needed.
  • For Senior Data Scientists, you will also have line management responsibility for overseeing the data scientists.
    • We have both Junior and Senior Data Scientist opportunities available. Offering a competitive rate of pay depending on experience (with a 10% uplift applied for night working), this role requires the following experience:Essential
  • Proven track record in processing large scientific data sets accurately.
  • Previous experience within a laboratory environment.
  • Expert use of data analysis tools including Excel.
  • (Senior Data Scientist) Experience of line management and ability to delegate workloads and work across a remote platform.

  • Previous experience working with qPCR datasets.
  • Practical experience using or administrating Oracle, MS-SQL and Postgres SQL databases.
  • Experience with Sportfire, R or other visualization and analysis packages.
