Teaching Assistant1:1 Autism Support£325 - £400 a weekStart date: 2nd September 2022Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a partnership Secondary school in Newport.We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 7 pupil with Autism.About the RoleThe successful candidate will be given a fixed-term contract starting in September and continuing through to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this becoming permanent.This is a full-time position and the successful candidate will be required to work between the hours 08:3015:30.Working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a Year 7 pupil with Autism.The salary for this position will be between£325 - £400 a week(depending on your experience).This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is looking to invest in you with CPD training opportunities.To help prepare you for the role Teaching Personnel will also offerContinuous Professional Development (CPD) coursesanda Level 2 Safeguarding Course.About the SchoolThe successful Teaching Assistant will join a thriving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 secondary school situated in Newport, South Wales with a population of just over 1500 students. The school recently received brilliant feedback in their latest Estyninspection and prides itself on the wellbeing and support for their staff and pupils.The school is located on the outskirts of Newport and is easily accessible on public transport from other areas of Newport, or by car via the M4.Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registrationTeaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these.
  • Minimum qualifications required: A*-C in GCSE Maths and English.
  • If no previous experience working with children, you must be able to display transferable skills.
