Job Description

Purchasing/Supply Chain ManagerTemp to perm after 3 monthsIn this role, reporting to the Manufacturing Departmental Manager, you’ll collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Technical and Finance, to ensure optimised material supply, so teamwork skills are important. You should also have experience in sub-contractor management, as well as great communication ability.If you meet these criteria and also possess a strategic, analytical mind, we’d like to hear from you.Responsibilities

  • Create the company’s supply chain strategy
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals.
  • Ensure the timely and cost effective supply of raw materials.
  • Analyse data from delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues, and devise ways of reducing lead times from suppliers.
  • Evaluate, devise and report on KPIs.
  • Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
  • Train and guide employees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
  • Develop and implement safety guidelines.
  • Ensure supply chain and purchasing processes meet legal requirements and standards.
  • Requirements
  • 5 + years’ experience as a supply chain / purchasing / subcontract manager.
  • 5 + years’ experience of ERP software (EFACS preferred).
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills.
  • A strategic and analytical mind.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, Logistics, or similar field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • SQL Report Writing Skills would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of Workers Coops desirable but not essential.
  • Brief Purpose of the Job:
    1. Responsible for overall purchasing function, coordinating the work of the purchasing team to achieve timely, dependable and cost-effective purchase of materials.
    2. Primary contact for Development and S&M materials purchases.
    3. Complex MRP system configuration and problem solving for Manufacturing Department.
    4. Support NPI and PCO process, sourcing new items and alternative suppliers.
    5. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, manage rolling programme of supplier evaluation.
    6. Helping develop suppliers/ sub-contractors to deliver optimum costs and quality through powerful negotiation, to meet business needs.
    7. Develop and maintain commercial purchasing agreements.
    8. Monitor market trends with regards to raw materials and components.
    9. Work with Planning to optimise stockholdings.
