Principal Analyst, GC/MS Location: Newmarket Type: Permanent Salary: upto £40,000 depending on experience Russell Taylor Group is working with a global testing company who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Chemist ready to step up into a Principal role or an established PA looking for a change in their career. The Role:• Adherence to the QMS including root cause analysis and communicating with clients on technical matters.• Assistance in maintenance programs for the Departments specific analytical instrumentation and any other analytical equipment used by the Department. Maintenance procedures shall ensure that instruments are kept in a clean and serviceable condition and thatroutine in house maintenance procedures are kept up to date.• Develop and implement business improvement ideas, across all areas of the organics lab. • Assist with fixing instruments when they are out of service• Investigate and conduct non routine methodology and data generation as required by client and business• Support organics department in areas requiring advanced expertise in analytical chemistry• Perform on-going training for organic laboratory team• Respond to client queries in a prompt and professional manner, either directly, or in support of other colleagues• To comply with ISO 17025:2017 and MCERTS requirements of your role, and perform any other reasonable duties.• To assist others in the performance of their duties if trained in that area of operation and if time allows.• Responsibility for investigation of nonconformances within the methods• Assist with all internal and external audits including co-operation on investigation of all audit actions.• To comply with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements of the role, and perform any other reasonable duties as required by the business.The Person: • Will hold a Degree in a relevant - Scientific/ Chemistry based discipline (or higher)• 5+ years experience in an analytical - organic testing laboratory working to UKAS 17025 standards• GC MS/ GC method development experience & method validation experience • Experience in training analysts on associated test equipment & QMS. • Experience in reporting analytical results internally and externally• Strong interpersonal skills Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
