Job Description

Planning AssistantThe CompanyTheir client is a leading global packaging manufacturer, specialising in the Pharmaceutical and Beauty industry. Their Packaging offers deep market understanding gained through years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Beauty industries. They work closelywith their customers to provide bespoke, ground-breaking solutions for their clients packaging and security needs.The Assistant Planner will be responsible for creating and monitoring the schedule for the manufacturing process of their high-quality packaging. The Assistant Planner will work with their lead Planner and other members of the supply chain team, customerservices and the technical team, to ensure goods are produced on schedule.Key Responsibilities:

  • The planning of the manufacturing schedule for their leaflet operation.
  • Handle tight deadlines and ensure that customers orders are fulfilled.
  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation.
  • Working closely with lead planner, suppliers, production, goods in and technical.
  • Responsible for short- and long-term materials call offs orders and forecasts.
  • Maintains the production schedule and other reports as required.
  • Works with outworkers to manage jobs effectively.
  • Works with the senior management team.
  • Independent checks of customer supplied artwork for release into production.
  • Batch release of customer orders.

Some experience of supply chain and/or planning would be required and you would receive training to enable you to gain the skills and knowledgerequired for the role in production planning and supply chain management.Skills, qualifications and/or experience:
  • Previous experience of planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience of using an MRP system.
  • Excellent use of MS Office.
  • Able to make very good decisions, quickly and to stand by them.
  • Able to work with accuracy and fine attention to detail, particularly when under pressure.
  • Possesses a desire to understand customer and colleague requirements.
  • Uses initiative when approaching new tasks, tackling problems and prioritising workload.
