Job Description

We are supporting a unique business in its search for an additional member of the maintenance team. Following a recent restructure, they are seeking an Electrically biased Engineer to work a Monday to Friday shift, 1pm to 10pm. The Maintenance Engineer will be joining a team of 16 engineers undertaking both reactive and preventative maintenance activities. This role is suited to applicants from a heavy industry background who arecomfortable working outside. The business invests heavily in ongoing training and development for its employees.Core duties include:

  • Ensure compliance with all site policies and rules relating to Quality, Safety and the Environment
  • Carry out maintenance of the plant, equipment and buildings to ensure they are maintained to a good serviceable standard
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activity according to the PM schedules, review and update PM schedules as required
  • Breakdown maintenance repairs, performing reactive maintenance and prioritising urgency appropriately to keep plant downtime to a minimum
  • Identify critical spare parts to support operational needs and code items to engineering stock.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on equipment failures and carry out improvement works based on agreed corrective actions.
  • Lead small projects, and continuous improvement works.
  • Use a range of risk assessment techniques in order to ensure safety of plant, equipment and activities
Skills required:
  • NVQ level3/HNC/ Multi skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • Computer Literacy – Basic Intermediate in MS Office
  • Pneumatic & Hydraulic systems, conveyor and belt drives, invertor drives, electrical sensors, switches and associated’ control gear, safety circuits
