Job Description

Legal Secretary Salary DOEMonday to Friday37.5 hours per weekTemporary or PermanentOur client based in Newmarket, is searching for a Legal Secretary to join their well-established team. The successful candidate will be supporting the Commercial Property team, providing them with secretarial and administrative support. Previous experiencewithin a similar role in a legal office is essential.Main duties and responsibilities, (including but not limited to):

  • Audio and copy typing
  • Opening and closing files
  • Organising diaries
  • Answering the telephone
  • Filing
  • Requesting redemption statements from lenders and using LMS and Lender Exchange
  • Drafting completion statements, invoices and SDLT forms with HMRC and submitting them
  • Occasional reception cover
Key skills and attributes:
  • Strong communicator who works well under pressure
  • Discreet and trustworthy
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and individually
  • Good eye for detail and accuracy
  • Well organised and methodical, with the ability to prioritise the workload
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word is essential
  • Working knowledge of ALB case management system or similar
  • Experience in a similar role within a legal office is essential
  • High standard of typing
  • Good telephone manner
