Applications are invited for the post of Trainee Sterilisation Technician in the Sterile Services Department based within the Royal Victoria Infirmary .This role involves working under direction as part of a team responsible for the cleaning and decontamination of equipment used in patient procedures.The role will require the post holder to be flexible and the successful applicant may also be required to work at the Sterile Services and Endoscopy Decontamination Unit located at the Royal Victoria Infirmary . The substantive 37.5 hours per week post will also involve working Bank Holidays and the shift pattern is rotational between the hours of 7am to 8pm and will also include weekend working.The successful applicant will have literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. English and Maths at level 1 or equivalent (GCSE 3-2 or D-E or Functional Key Skills at Level 1), or equivalent, standard qualifications for which examination certificates must be produced. You will be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will receive full job training and will work towards completing an NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination qualification. Previous hospital experience would be advantageous.Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for all essential and desirable criteria required for the role.Full Time 37 Hours 30 Minutes/Week
