Job Description

The CompanyLeading international technology business is looking to recruit a Technology Assurance Manager to join its global team.The RoleThe Technology Assurance Manager will ensure that assurance over key risks and controls relating to IT, Product Management (i.e. Development and Engineering), Cyber Security and Data are embedded into the Groups Internal Audit Plan, and that this Plan is deliveredin line with the Group Assurance methodology.You will be responsible for building and maintaining Assurance relationships with key stakeholders in associated Group functions, and for the continuing development of the Assurance analytics strategy, working with both Assurance colleagues and counterpartsin other departments (Risk, Business Integrity and IT/Data)Specifically you will:

  • Provide support to VP Assurance and Senior Assurance Manager in driving strong and robust assurance over the Group internal control environment.
  • Support the development of risk-based IT assurance assignments and integrating IT assurance activities into the wider Assurance (Internal Audit) Plan.
  • Conduct reviews in highly technical areas of current/emerging technologies including cloud, distributed computing, cyber security, product engineering, robotics and AI/ML etc.
  • Lead on continuing development of the Assurance data analytics strategy, collaborating where appropriate withcounterparts in other functions (e.g. Risk, Business Integrity and IT/Data), to support high-quality, analytics-enabled Assurance.
  • Ensure that an Audit Planning Memo is developed for each review, all appropriate stakeholders are engaged, and work performed is documented to expected quality standards using the audit management tool.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality audit reports that are balanced, proportionate, factually correct and accurately reflect observations made.
  • Proactively engage with management during each audit, ensuring that a quality no surprises audit process is always maintained.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key IT, Product and Cyber Security colleagues, aligned to the GroupsAssurance business partnering approach.
  • Ensure timely, effective and appropriate communication and coordination with all Assurance colleagues, including the VP Assurance and Senior Assurance Manager.
  • Manage and coach team members to support growth and development, and achievement of shared objectives.
  • Ensure that Assurance KPI targets are met in terms of planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
Over time you will be expected to travel internationally up to 30%.The RequirementsWith well-rounded IT assurance skills, with a good understanding of cloud services and experience delivering assurance in cloud-native / cloud-connected environments, you will:
  • Be a self-starter with a growth mindset, with a strong and collaborative work ethic
  • Possess an excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate highly technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences and demonstrate innovation in IT audit program delivery.
  • Have a hands-on approach to assurance delivery, with high capability for multi-tasking
  • Be an innovative thinker, being able to challenge the status quo constructively
Experience with Audit Management and GRC software, data analytics and related technology enablers (e.g. PowerBI, MySQL, ACL, R etc) will be beneficial.Though candidates will ideally come from an IT audit background, be in in practice or industry, applications are also sought from candidateswho undertake IT audit work as part of their role, whether it be a risk & compliance focussed Information Security roleor within Data Analytics.Any qualifications such as CIA, CISA, CISM or Lead Auditor ISO 27001 would be preferred.
