Job Description

Technical Architect - AWS Platform Location - Remote - Newcastle Skills (1 day a month)The role requires someone with experience of developing solutions for deployment into public cloud (AWS preferred) environments.This would be supporting across the whole PDU (Project Delivery). Knowledge of API Gateways (especially Kong with OIDC plugin implementation) Experience of Microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design approachStrong solution design focusRESTful API and API patterns in generalThe skills we need are:

  • A working understanding of modern data security, data privacy and GDPR
  • Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards
  • Event-based architecture design, patterns (including pub-sub and data streaming), modelling techniques, tools and standards.
  • Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container, and networking design patterns, tools and best practices (especially AWS).
  • Agile / DevOps delivery methodologies and best practices.
  • Identity and Access Management, and related technical standards e.g. SAML, OAuth, OIDC etc
  • Presenting to technical governance forums.
  • Knowledge and experience with containerisation (specifically Kubernetes) would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Presenting and gaining design approval via Governance processKnowledge of API Gateways (especially Kong with OIDC plugin implementation) an advantageComfortable with brown-field environments and existing design constraintsExperience with data flow based integration, particularly the passing of state via messaging between applications domains
Pay: £580 Inside IR35 (flexible)
