Job Description

Technical AccountantOur client is a highly profitable and ambitious service business that has grown phenomenally from scratch to c.£350m sales and 440 staff in approx. 15 years. Its finance department and people have grown and progressed with the company and the departmentis now c.20 people strong. The company is now on the next stage of its truly amazing journey and we’re now looking to help further strengthen the finance team, by recruiting a progressive, career-minded and commercially-focussed qualified accountant to a newlycreated Technical Accountant role.Reporting the Finance Director and Head of Financial Reporting you’ll join a small, growing team with responsibilities including:

  • Ensuring statutory financial statements are prepared in accordance with IFRS accounting standards to required timeframes
  • Development and maintenance of internal accounting policies manual
  • Preparation of supporting documents to accounting policies and decisions
  • Preparation and monitoring of regulatory reporting returns
  • Supporting the wider finance team with month end processes & analysis
  • Provision of commentary and analysis for board reports & investor relations
  • Delivery of new and ongoing technical accounting projects
You’ll offer:
  • Strong "Financial Accountant" or Audit/Assurance experience, ideally gained with a lead or Big 4 accountancy practice OR a technically-oriented "head office" type finance role
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations
  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • A progressive, proactive, ambitious and flexible approach
  • Commercial focus
