Job Description

Our client is helping with the battle against climate change with breakthrough technologies that accelerate electrification and sustainable operations for energy-intensive industries. The business develops full-stack, integrated, open systems that supportcommercial and industrial electric vehicles, building operations, and agriculture to optimize how the world uses energy, so every watt is worthwhile for humanity.They are looking for curious, intelligent, collaborative people from diverse backgrounds who want to make a real impact on the sustainability of our planet.The JobWere looking for someone who can solve complex system problems using first principles and by dividing them down into more solvable problems. You will provide operational and technical expertise that will ensure the successful specification, design, implementation,and integration of industrial, automotive, and aerospace systems.You have knowledge of systems engineering practice according to ASPICE, ISO 15288, ISO 26262, INCOSE, CIMM and System Requirements Development and System Architecture Development. Be interested in a wide range of engineering disciplines including mechatronics,electrical machines, power electronics and software.The Requirements

  • Supporting powertrain electrical system definition and system design based on first principles approach, functional safety concepts and detailed system analysis.
  • Perform system analysis as needed for all aspects of optimisation, controls, and performance to guide various components of the powertrain system design.
  • Supporting the system level design activities, ensuring all system requirements are captured, and analysis is completed to a level to allow Mechanical, Hardware and Software technical requirements to be defined.
  • Managing requirements from elicitation, definition/capture, decomposition, allocation, prioritization, tracking, traceability, test mapping and derived identification.
  • Utilize system modelling tools and techniques to include:
    • System Architectural Design
    • Develop system behaviours, control mechanization and interfaces using system diagrams, signal flow diagrams, state machines, etc.
    • Development and modelling of system use cases
    • Decomposing the problem into digestible functional, physical, and behavioural chunks.
    • Develop architectural work products (particularly SysML models) based on customer use cases and internal system requirements
    • Develop/improve processes for architectural best methods.
  • System and functional level architecture definition, modelling and analysis.
  • Performing alternative architecture analysis and definition.
  • Support development of system level models.
Ideal Knowledge (not essential but advantageous):
  • Analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, etc.
  • Knowledge of electric/hybrid drivetrains
  • Knowledge of power electronics, electric machines, and battery technology
