Job Description

This is a small but dedicated team who are responsible for raising and managing the Banks wholesale funding needs in both secured and unsecured formats. The Group can haveup to £15bn of wholesale debt outstanding debt at any one time and can issue up to £5bn of debt in any given financial year across a range of formats, tenors and currencies to meet the banks funding requirements and support asset growth and funding diversity.In this exciting role you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Groups secured funding programmes, including cash management, investor and regulatory reporting and on-going pool data management, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatoryrequirements, supporting new issuance.This is a great opportunity for someone to join an interesting area of Treasury where you will learn and have the chance to develop your analytical skills to support and enhance the banks approach to our secured funding programmes in line with our purposeto ensure our external investors and relevant stakeholders are happier about money. Over time, you will have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and get exposure to capital & unsecured issuance, credit ratings and debt investor relations.Day to day you will

  • Day to day management of the Banks obligations in respect of its secured funding programmes (cash management, investor reporting, eligibility strategy)
  • Supporting execution of new structured funding transactions.
  • Manage internal impacts of secured funding programmes on the wider business in terms of process, change and regulatory requirements
  • Adhering to and maintaining programme legal documentation
  • Assist in the development of new funding platforms and asset disposal / risk transfer capabilities which support efficient balance sheet management and aid funding flexibility as required
  • Support the Banks wider sustainability agenda by looking at green / sustainable funding platforms
  • Working as part of a team whilst demonstrating the ability to work independently
  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders / market participants on technical secured funding issues including regulatory developments.
  • Maintain the Groups collateral forecasting model to ensure optimal management of mortgage collateral for the Groups secured wholesale funding programmes and Bank of England (BoE) pre-positioned asset requirements.
  • Explore and enhance technology solutions to provide best available data and efficiencies to achieve best in class reporting and information provision to investors
  • Prepare monthly ALCO pack and Board papers (as required)
To be brilliant you must have...
  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience of securitisation/secured funding operations
  • Superb analytical, reporting and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using Visual Basic for Applications and Access
  • Excellent attention to documentary detail
  • Good communication skills and with a proactive team player mind set
  • Previous experience of managing third party relationships and/or wider market participants
  • An awareness of corporate principals and standards
  • Self Starter with the ability to work to strict deadlines and balance priorities effectively
The icing on the cake would be...
  • Knowledge of mortgage products and origination process
  • Other programming (SQL/SAS) skills
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent with Accounting, Banking, Risk or Financial Services qualification, or relevant industry experience
