Job Description

This is your chance to gain an exciting opportunity in a progressive role based in Newcastle to showcase your ideas, skills and experience within an innovative, future thinking, global engineering enterprise. As a Senior geo-environmental engineer, you willplay a key role within one of the largest and most successful remediation and ground engineering teams in the UK.What we are looking for:

  • Detailed understanding of contaminated land, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, inclusive of risk-based approach to the assessment of contaminated land.
  • Highly experienced in leading, planning and designing ground investigations.
  • Fully versed with the CDM Regulations.
  • Experience of presenting geo-environmental technical information.
  • Competent with contaminated land data handling, including experience in the use of GIS/QGIS
  • Relevant technical degree (Geology, Geochemistry, Physical Geography, Environmental Science)
  • Desirable - Masters degree (Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering)
Typical duties will include:
  • Leadership of contaminated land and ground investigation.
  • Supervising sub-contractors.
  • Soil and groundwater sampling, geotechnical testing and ground gas monitoring.
  • Remediation Verification Report preparation, inclusive of geo-environmental data and risk assessment.
  • Developing Remediation options appraisals.
  • Designing and delivering Remediation strategies.
  • Ensuring all deliverables are to the highest quality environmental standards, including health and safety and risk assessments.
  • Geo-environmental ground investigation design, works specification, bill of quantities and Health and safety requirements.
