Job Description

Senior Developer (Reporting & Data Warehousing Developer)Remote WorkingFixed Term Contract to October 2024, £63,678 per annumPurposeThe University of Sussex, one of the UKs leading academic establishments, is beginning a new project to overhaul its Student Information System, moving to a third-party cloud-based solution. A comprehensive project over two years working in an API environmentwith a focus on workflow management, execution paths and large-scale data migration. This is an exciting greenfield implementation opportunity with the ability to help create and define processes.Role DescriptionYou will take responsibility for overseeing the team that develops and maintains the highest levels of data competency, accuracy, standards, and reporting capacity across the Student Information System (SIS) Project. Working alongside the data migrationlead, you will be a hands-on data mover, working to transfer a large, existing Oracle-based database to a new platform. You will work closely with members of the technical and project teams to ensure that all aspects of reporting and data warehousing aretightly controlled and delivered. A proactive worker with strong problem-solving skills, you will maintain and administer a complex data warehouse environment.Key Skills

  • Experience as a technical lead of data
  • Extensive knowledge of data transformation and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
  • Agile working and scrum management
  • Excellent knowledge of database administration
  • Strong knowledge of Python, SQL or XML/JSON
  • Experience of working with Oracle
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate solutions and make effective decisions
  • Good knowledge of SDLCs
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, practices, and API management
  • Software development experience would be beneficial
  • Experience of Boomi and Oracle PL / SQL would be beneficial but is not required
