Remote Working Flexibility - Newcastle upon Tyne HQPermanent ContractPackage - Market Leading Salary and BenefitsThe Role:As transformation and workstreams progress, the need for data, in order to facilitate theinsight and decision-making capabilities required become more business critical. Legacy system replacements and their dependency on integrations with transformed systems must be redesigned and reconfigured. Supply first class service to internal colleagues via Service Desk requests and Incidents through providing timely and efficient support.Responsibilities:-Responsible for the line management of, and being the first point of technical escalationfor Data Engineers within the IT Services & Security team.-Responsible for providing guidance to Data Engineers on best practice development and testing processes.-Responsible for design and implementation of system integrations and analytics data stores.-Responsible for ensuring documentation is up to date and accurate.-Accountable for adherence of SLA’s within the IT Services & Security department.-Accountable for own workload, and contribution of operational team plan completion.-Responsible for ensuring that database security is implemented, performance managed and database backup procedures are thorough and followed.-Responsible for creating and supporting dev and test database environments as required by the Software Delivery Team.-Accountable for ensuring availability of business critical databases servers and their associated applications by applying proactive database maintenance.-Providing database support for all stages of the development process from development to live production including disaster recovery.Providing on-going proactive maintenance on all database servers within the company.-Responsible for working with IT Partners to develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Infrastructure in relation to databases servers.-Responsible for providing support, advice and training to the Service Desk Team to resolve any database and integration related issues, as well as delegating standard processes were applicable.-Proactively working with internal customers and external suppliers to identify solution opportunities within the data, integrations and analytics areas.-Lead on data migration projects from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud.-Lead and provide guidance on data warehouse and analytics solutions design-Lead on implementing innovative integration solutions between applications housed both on-premise and in the cloud.-Lead on designing and documenting testing and development processes.The Person:-Line management and coaching experience, coupled with strong knowledge of integration tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.-Strong knowledge of in Microsoft SQL Server 2014, experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform.-Proven hands-on continuous work experience in developing integration solutions, experienced in Data Modelling and Data Warehouse design.-Experience of database systems administration including: Managing database backups/restores, Performance monitoring, Designing high availability/disasterrecovery solutions, Application troubleshooting, Implementing security best practice, Capacity planning, Design and implement maintenanceroutines, Automating On-going tasks etc.-Attention to detail and ability to work accurately, with an ability to keep up to date with emerging technologies and methodologies.-Experience with Data Migration projects, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Azure/Dynamics products and platforms would be highly desirable Required skills
