Job Description

Role OverviewNewcastle Rural Management TeamThis is an opportunity to join a friendly and energetic team with a diverse workload spanning ruralprofessional practice, and with a core of retained estate management work and associated strategicconsultancy. The immediate team consists of one director,two associate directors, two associates and two rural surveyors. The work of the team is also ably supported by three estate administrators.The role would be based out of Newcastle, but it is expected that the individual would work in an agile manner across the region.The Newcastle Rural Management Team has an actively collaborative approach, and operates as part of the larger multi-disciplinary Savills Newcastle office, alongside teams delivering a range of services including planning, building surveying, development consultancy,industrial and investment agency. The team also works closely with other Savills specialists in the region in areas such as minerals surveying, farm business consultancy and forestry. The local team is supported by the almost-limitless knowledge, resourcesand research within the national and international Savills network, and as an integral member of the team you will be expected to liaise with your counterparts across the country and to contribute to business development throughout Savills both within andbeyond the rural division.Key Responsibilities

  • Serve the existing client base, and contribute to the growth of the business and its profile in the region.
  • Day to day running of rural estates and property
  • Assist in the strategic advice to clients
  • Provision of advice for landlord and tenant, rent reviews and property management
  • Building rapport with colleagues, clients, tenants, contractors and suppliers
  • Identifying opportunities to grow and expand the business
Key Skills
  • Must be either MRICS and/or FAAV qualified
  • The ability to engage with a variety of audiences
  • Good relationship and management and communication skills
  • The ability to deal with conflict and provide resolution
  • Self-motivated, goal driven and the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Commercially aware, but with ability to vary approach dependent on circumstances
Team OverviewThe role will play a key part in the delivery of fee earning and provide an excellent client service within the Newcastle Rural Estate Management Team. The team has an established and varied client base, including charities, corporate and institutional bodiesas well as private clients. The successful candidate will assume significant client facing responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of the clients objectives. Key additional responsibilities include: working as part of a close team, have good communicationand responsibility. This role offers considerable opportunities for the candidate to progress their career.
