Job Description

Berry Recruitment Darlington are working alongside a cutting edge Client in the North East, bringing three exciting new roles to the area, within their Newcastle Offices.Our Client is the largest provider of business-critical support services for the Government, Police and Defence clients, along with many more.We are recruiting for a Project Support Manager to join the Newcastle Office on a 6 month fixed term basis, starting as soon as possible. Office Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours daily, start and finish times to be confirmed. Currently this Client isnot operating on a work from home basis and all hours will be completed within the office.As a Project Support Manager, your role will be to deliver a range of services to some of the largest UK Government contracts. If you have experience as a project support officer and/or HR delivery experience, we would like to hear from you.Within this role you will be responsible for the delivery of one or more Business Services to the clients. You will lead any key project changes and support in the delivery of the services.Key responsibilities are outlined below but are not limited to;

  • Provide project management support in accordance with agreed service levels, timescales and budgets.
  • Liaise with other departments and clients, where necessary, to gain appropriate information/advice in line with service needs.
  • Report service performance and highlight any variances/issues for resolution, and to investigate further/take timely corrective action, improving the process where required.
  • Take care of enquiries from customers related to the delivery of the business service for which the manager is responsible.
  • Support ongoing and specific improvement initiatives as required and demonstrate a practical approach to improving business service processes.
  • Participate in projects as required, within the relevant business services area.
  • Identify and manage risks in his/her business activities and take ownership for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner.
Essential Skills that the Client would like the ideal Candidate to have/be;
  • Experience working in a Project Management or HR delivery position.
  • Ability to set and achieve performance targets at a distance, as well as face to face.
  • Experience of delivering a high quality customer service, in a professional manner.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels - within a team setting, over the telephone and in writing.
  • Effective team player, who displays commitment and flexibility.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to continuously improve performance through establishment and communication of a vision for the future.
  • Proven track record to lead and deliver change at pace.
  • Experience multi-disciplined teams serving a high volume customer base.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commercial acumen with the ability to work with people of mixed levels within the organisation and engage with clients where needed taking into account the commercial aspects of the business.
Candidates with knowledge and experience in HR Management, qualified PRINCE2, or CIPD qualified (or equivalent) would be highly advantageous.
