Job Description

Project Manager required to ensure component manufacturing delivery for third party customers. Our client is a leading engineering service provider offering full process control of subcontract manufacturing services, with machining capabilities from 3mmdiameter to 50 tonne components. The company works primarily in the defence, nuclear, renewables and oil and gas sectors and operates from a secure, integrated manufacturing facility in Newcastle upon Tyne.This Engineering company provides solutions which support customers from initial concept, through material selection and sourcing, to manufacturing, assembly and test.Project Manager - The role:The main responsibility of a Project Manager will be the ability to developrelationships with key customers and clients to ensure that the company focuses on developing and delivering products and services that meet customer needs.The Project Managerwillwork alongside the senior management team to implement the resources to support and fuel the development and growth of the business.Duties:

  • Deliver purchase order requirements while minimising business risks and costs, taking opportunities to improve profitability while protecting and improving customer relationships
  • Use and maintain agreed planning tools
  • Arrange and attend various meetings and that could include contract reviews, customer updates, expediting, and quality reviews
  • Manage the creation, submissions, maintenance and circulation of project plans and other status reports
  • Identify and take opportunities to maximise sales order profitability, commercial and business opportunities
  • Enhance profitability through the effective management of project costs ensuring overall project budgets are achieved
  • Manage changes to requirements and prepare, submit and negotiate variation orders
  • Identify, report and expedite progress and minimise potential risks to the project schedule.
  • Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the companys Health, Safety & EnvironmentalPolicy
  • Carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected
Project Manager - The person:
  • Experience of strategic planning, with the ability to ensure the business meets customer requirements / deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and constructively while maintaining good relationships with customers.
  • Significant experience and understanding of the manufacturing industry and in particular a machine shop environment.
  • Experience of working within a business which manufactures components for various industries (aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, defence).
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Analytical with strong proven problem solving abilities combined with the ability to provide strong leadership.
  • Able to strategically plan operations while having the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines.
