Job Description

Page Personnel has collaborated with a large Education client based in Newcastle to assist in the recruitment of a Press & Media Officer to join them on a fixed-term contract until May 2024. As the Press & Media Officer, you will be responsible for the internaland external reputation through integrated PR campaigns and activity.Client DetailsPage Personnel has collaborated with a large Education client based in Newcastle to assist in the recruitment of a Press & Media Officer to join them on a fixed-term contract until May 2024. As the Press & Media Officer, you will be responsible for the internaland external reputation through integrated PR campaigns and activity.DescriptionKey responsibilities include:

  • Lead and deliver integrated Comms and PR campaigns and activity across multiple channels to support corporate objectives (includes preparing press releases and statements; drafting project briefs and communications plans; developing and publishing contentfor print and digital channels; copywriting; editing; proofing; managing photo and film shoots; editing photography and film footage; managing social media channels; and creating digital materials for a range of publications and audiences)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders providing professional guidance and counsel and driving profile activity.
  • Take responsibility for all stages of the PR cycle from engaging with and winning the confidence of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop targeted, creative, channel- and audience-appropriate content.
  • Manage the distribution of news to targeted media outlets through the use of media contact lists.
  • Other duties as required.
ProfileThe successful candidate:
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong grasp of the correct use of the English language and the ability to write within specific brand guidelines and for different audiences and channels.
  • Ability to develop creative ideas to engage people.
  • Experience working in a communications, PR, or journalist role including dealing with media.
  • Experience in using a range of communications platforms, tools, and technologies including email and e-newsletters; all forms of social media; and websites.
