Job Description

Job Role: P6 PlannerLocation: NewcastleDuration: 12 months plusContract position: Inside Ir35 Via Umbrella Company PAYE (No CIS)Summary of the P6 Planner:I am currently recruiting for a P6 Planner with a strong rail/civil background to work for a major Tier 1 rail company based in Newcastle on a long term contract basis.Responsibilities for the P6 Planner:

  • Reporting to the Planning Manager and supporting the Project Controls Manager.
  • Responsible for all P6 schedules underpinning the clients main delivery, specifically construction.
  • Coordinating and prioritising construction and mechanical works to maintain delivery through the construction phase.
  • Providing leadership.
  • Charing work management meetings.
  • Supporting the review of work order backlog and making decisions on additions and deletions and understanding the impact on the facility and business objectives and strategies to ensure logical selection of work.
  • Performing final review of schedule
  • Coordinating and resolving issues.
Requirements for the P6 Planner:
  • Previous experience working in a Planning role
  • You will have significant experience using Primavera P6
  • Previous history of working on large rail/ civil projects
  • Major infrastructure project experience (heavy civil project experience would be beneficial)
  • Degree educated in an Engineering discipline OR equivalent experience
  • A strategic thinker, able to convey your ideas both verbally and in report form to Clients, external stakeholders and the design team
  • Knowledge and awareness of project management methodologies, e.g. Prince 2.
