Job Description

The Opportunity:Nigel Wright are excited to be working with a leading public sector organisation based in Tyne and Wear who are looking to recruit a Network Engineer.The role is a blend of projects such as a full network refresh moving from Cisco to Aruba/Palo Alto and BAU support.Responsibilities:

  • Support the IT Services network Team by coordinating and contributing to the provision of a professional support service through the delivery of customer focused outputs.
  • Demonstrate creativity and passion in developing network and security services of an exceptional quality that derive the maximum benefit for users and the organisation.
  • Organise, plan and prioritise own work activities, and the work of others where appropriate, to contribute to the achievement of IT Services objectives and professional standards.
  • Lead on the delivery of software defined networking solutions that are scalable, easy to administer and reliable
  • Configuration of security platforms, including firewalls and IPS/threat protection according to industry best practice
  • Investigation of security incidents, including threat analysis and forensics and prevention methods.
  • Responsible for, along with other team members, network management and monitoring using a variety of products and raising incidents where appropriate.
  • Responsible, along with other team members, for resolving network incidents and requests as part of operational support functions and act as an escalation point where required.
Requirements:Any successful candidate should have 2 plus years experience in a Network Engineer position and have either a CCNA or equivalent.Benefits & Next steps
