Job Description

And you get these Red-Hot Rewards from day one!Our Risk department provide us with a fool proof framework to make decisions that we know will keep our customers and investors money safe. They are always safeguarding our bank from an array of risks that could pop up at any moment.As part of the Models Innovation team youll help to secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative analysis across our model suite, providing solutions support the acquisition of new business, risk based accountmanagement and manage the banks capital across its portfolios.Day to day youll be responsible for
  • Independently lead analytical/statistical modelling and data analysis to support the development of the banks models
  • Understand the existing models and thereby ensure they remain robust and fit for purpose
  • Produce documentation explaining complex concepts and outcomes in a way that all stakeholders can understandkeeping it straightforward!
  • Lead key discussions and present analytical findings and solutions to a range of stakeholders
  • Supporting the development of junior analysts
  • Present output for model changes to key stakeholders both within and external to the modelling area
There are a few essentials you need to bring
  • Familiarity of a wide variety of advanced machine learning and AI modelling techniques with experience of applying them in a financial modelling environment
  • Experience in Banking and Risk Management, ideally with experience of regulatory models (e.g. IRB, IFRS9, ST)
  • Experience in an environment that drives strong commercial understanding and utilises the interpretation of complex data collation and analysis to identify effective data and systems capabilities.
  • Technical experience of model development projects within banking with an understanding of model usage
  • Strong analytical skills with a good degree in a numerate discipline subject (e.g. statistics, engineering, econometrics).
  • Expertise in the use of statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, Python, R) as well as MS Office
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Team building mindset and associated management skills
Its a bonus if you have .but not essential
  • Experience in building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Coaching/mentoring experience building up a team of data scientists
  • Functional Risk and Regulatory knowledge (e.g. UK SS 11/13, BCBS)
  • Advanced Degree (PhD, Masters) in a data science related area
