Job Description

Job Title: Mobile Support Pest TechnicianLocation: Teesside or Tyneside covering North East EnglandSalary: £31,495 (includes on call allowance) + fully expensed vehicle, full tools and equipment, pension, medical, 33 days holiday and opportunities for overtimeRole will involve being on an on-call rota, 1 week in every 4.Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week - plus 5 hours banked for on-callOur client City Facilities Management are a large industry leading Global FM company delivering bespoke services to primary businesses across various sectors.This is a rare opportunity to join a unique service provider in the Pest Control industry with a focused and distinctive approach to Pest Management.Job PurposeThe Mobile Support Pest Technician is to provide support to the Pest Control Technician when either proactive or reactive pest issues are identified within stores, supermarkets, depots and living sitesKey Accountabilities

  • Carry out by Pest Proofing and prevent and/or control pest infestation at allocated ASDA Stores and Distribution centres.
  • Cover any planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits for pest control when required by the business and approved by the National Pest Control Manager or Pest Operations Manger.
  • Respond promptly to genuine emergency call outs from the ASDA helpdesk.
  • Complete reports and communicate on a daily basis with the store colleagues and line manager.
  • Take ownership of other pest related issues, i.e. cleaning/proofing, to resolve ongoing problems
  • Carry out any on site training with ASDA/CITY colleagues
  • Use pesticides in a safe and responsible manner as specified under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
  • To Maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required
  • Maintain and keep vehicle and equipment supplied in good working condition
  • To ensure sign off of completed works by ASDA
  • To work in a manner to support the achievement of company KPIs
  • To work in a manner to support lowest cost to operate ethos
  • To ensure all systems are working to optimum energy efficiency
  • When require support other engineering disciplines to provide flexibility to service delivery
  • All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid down Company Health and Safety policy
  • To carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the companys Health and Safety Policy at all times
  • To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times
  • To present the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues
  • To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from City Management Team
The successful applicant must have:
  • RSPH or BPCA Diplomas Part 1 and 2.
  • Experience within PEST control environment / industry
  • Good communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Have basic knowledge in installing Pest Proofing Methods (bristle strips, cement and spikes etc)
  • a head for heights as you will be required to work from MEWPS installing spikes/netting
You must be:

  • Able to work consistently to a high standard
  • Good time keeping and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
