Job Description

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting an engineering consultancy business based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the appointment of a Mechanical Design Engineer due to high demand. The client specialises in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and software designservices, as well as bespoke offshore equipment design for clients within the marine and subsea industries.This is a great opportunity to join a growing team who celebrate individuality and unique insights/viewpoints, offering the ability to learn from engineers with extensive experience within this field.Responsibilities:

  • Concept design of bespoke marine and subsea equipment
  • Detailed design and supporting calculations using Inventor, MathCAD and hand-calculations.
  • Technical Documentation to support equipment, including but not limited to specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc.
  • Peer review engineering designs (depending on the experience).
  • Supporting clients remotely and onsite - occasional travel is required to clients sites both across the UK and within Europe.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified (preferably in Mechanical Engineering) desirable or equivalent work experience within industry.
  • AutoCAD/Autodesk Inventor/MathCAD experience for conceptual and detailed material/ equipment designs.
  • Ability to perform hand-calculations
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics (advantageous)
  • This role is open to a range of experience levels, ranging from graduate through to 8+ years industry experience.
