Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITYMy client are an established IT solution consultancy with ambitious growth plans for the coming year, part of which involves extending their Service Desk Support Team with the hire of a new IT Support Engineer.As a leading provider of IT services and solutions delivering excellence to their clients across various industries is paramount in the role. This is an all-encompassing position dealing with 1st and 2nd line troubleshooting, supporting across 3rd line fixesand the opportunity to work across wider project based roles.THE ROLEThe IT Support Engineer role is a pivotal position within the organization, requiring a candidate with a passion for problem-solving, exceptional customer communication skills, and a keen understanding of IT systems.Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Engaging with clients to provide comprehensive troubleshooting across hardware, software and mobile devices. Providing technical expertise to end-users through various channels, including phone, email, and remote assistance.
  • Issue Resolution: Taking ownership of support queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution, and managing the entire process through the Autotask Service Desk system.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Thoroughly documenting service actions, closed calls, resolutions, and maintaining an accurate record of clients IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Conducting software and hardware auditing, license management, and actively participating in project work, either independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Infrastructure Management: Performing system administration on client infrastructure and servers, managing corporate anti-virus and firewall solutions, patch management for both desktops and servers, and proactively identifying opportunitiesto enhance and secure clients infrastructure.
YOUR SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • Diverse Technical Experience: Proven background in IT Support Engineer roles across various levels, , preferably in an MSP environment. Familiarity with ITIL practices is desirable.
  • Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft 365 deployments, licensing, and feature sets, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, and Mobile Device Management.
  • Infrastructure support: Competence in Azure Active Directory, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, and extensive knowledge of Backup Technologies both in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Networking: Proficiency in configuring, supporting, and maintaining WAN and LAN networking, routers, firewalls, Spam and Web filters, VPN solutions, and virtual desktop/server technologies including VMware, Hyper V & Citrix.
