Job Description

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a HSE Advisor for an engineering business based in Newcastle, on a 2-year FTC to be the Site HSE representative.The OpportunityWe are looking for a HSE Professional able to empower a workforce to take ownership of their health and safety. An opportunity for a team player who wants to progress; the incumbent will be offered training and development. Based in Newcastle, you will bea crucial influence in ensuring that this Rail industry establishment maintains its stance as safety regulated; by holding responsibility of prioritising risks and determining levels of SHEC hazards. You will achieve this by being confident on the shop floor,across to advising senior management of HSE.Location: NewcastleSalary: £41,000Benefits:

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Mon to FridayRole and Responsibilities:
  • Provide SHEC support to the management teams for allocated Engineering site(s) and support functions. Coach and support Production Managers, Supervisors and frontline employees to help develop health and safety knowledge, awareness and risk perception.
  • Promote SHEC best practice within the Engineering Function.
Essential criteria:
  • NEBOSH Certificate Qualified
  • Experience working in a Heavy manufacturing/Engineering environment.
  • Communication skills – able to build relationships with people on the ‘shop floor’ and empower them in regard to HSE
