Job Description

We are working with our global manufacturing client in their search for a HSE Advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the management system is implemented, maintained and continually improved upon in accordance to UK legislation.If you ae looking to join a global business, please get in touch.Responsibilities:

  • Implementing, maintaining and reviewing of the sites health, safety and environmental management system.
  • Ensuring the site is compliant with UK legislation and is aligned with the Group strategy for health, safety and environment.
  • Conducting internal audits against ISO standards, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 and where necessary supporting external supplier audits.
  • Supporting and carrying out accident / incident investigations, to identify root causes and to establish and communicate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Taking the lead on new initiatives / Group campaigns to improve and develop the site health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Providing HSE input into the tender and contract award process.
  • Supporting contractor management when required.
  • Supporting the site behavioural based safety programme and conduct monthly observations.
  • Creating and delivering monthly HSE Committee meeting presentations.
  • Developing health, safety and environmental procedures and forms, risk assessments, COSHH risk assessments, environmental aspect and impact registers etc.
  • Supporting new starter inductions and training requirements as and when required.
  • Liaising with external organisations such as clients, suppliers, insurers, regulators, neighbouring businesses and the local community.
The Person:
  • The job holder must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or similar is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in the following areas would be beneficial: workplace transport, forklift trucks, working at height, welding, PUWER, fire, legionella, COSHH, DSEAR.
  • Experience of working in heavy and/or process manufacturing industries would be a benefit.
  • Experience of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
