You will also support the delivery of the HR Business Plan. This is a hybrid role with time divided between home and operational sites primarily in the North East.Responsibilities Support the Head of HR and HR Business Partners in the provision of a day-to-day Human Resources service to operational managers. Provide a dedicated HR advisory service, in relation absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change and the range of employment and employee relations matters. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with service areas, colleagues and employee representatives, establishing professional credibility. Lead on the management of casework, relating to sickness absence. This includes making recommendations, giving advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, case review meetings, and dismissal hearings. Support the development and maintenance of a performance management culture within the service area. This includes developing managers skills, leading on capability-related casework, and advising and guiding managers through the relevant policies. Lead and/or support the HR Business Partners on disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed. Prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports. Provide HR advisory input into service area projects, such as change management programmes and working groups as required Assist the Head of HR and/or HR Business Partner(s) to oversee and authorise the preparation and issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation to appointments, terminations and variations of employment including accurate and timelynotification to Employee Services regarding pay changes. Advise managers on recruitment and selection issues, including development of job descriptions, person specifications, the selection processes and participating in selection panels when necessary.RequirementsPart-CIPD and working towards full CIPD (or equivalent qualification)3 years experience of working within a HR function, preferably with some in a Unionised environment12 months experience of providing advice and support on HR policies / procedures;Experience to occupational health case managementExposure to provision of advice on disciplinary and grievance mattersUp to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practiceUnderstands key aspects of performance management; employee engagement, managing disciplinary and grievance issues and recruitment and selection etcConfident with all Microsoft applications including Word and ExcelAbility to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional mannerConfident communicating and influencing at all levels
