Job Description

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN - PONTELANDUp to £24,150An opportunity has arisen for a digital communications technician to join the team at a public sector company, based in their Ponteland office in Newcastle.The role will involve:

  • Configuring/issuing/repairing/asset managing Communication Devices
  • Providing support to users and support staff at all levels
  • Demonstrating the use of Communication Devices and ensuring that users have an understanding of how they work
  • Reviewing/recommending updates to live procedures/recommending improvements to improve efficiency
  • Ensuring that appropriate levels of stock are maintained
  • Prioritising incidents/service requests daily ensuring maximum availability of devices
  • Liaising with third party suppliers/ensuring repairs are undertaken with relevant service level agreement
  • Driving appropriate vehicles/transporting equipment/materials to various locations
  • Updating the ICT Service Management tool and associated knowledge base on repair of incidents or progress on service requests
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • The ability to configure/diagnose faults on computer/communications equipment
  • The ability to prioritise your own workload whilst meeting deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A can-do attitude
  • The ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language - ensuring the user understands any requests made of them
  • Good communication skills
