Job Description

Deputy Nursery Manager

  • Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE15)
  • Salary: £14-£15 per hour based on experience.
  • Hours: Full-time position - 38 hours per week across 5 days.
  • 50% Childcare discount
  • Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible
Job Overview:As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young minds. You’ll support the Manager to lead a dedicated team, fostering children’s development in inspiring environments. Your passion for early childhood education anddeveloping leadership skills will be essential in creating a nurturing and enriching experience for both children and staff.Responsibilities:1 Leadership and Management:
    • Support a highly motivated and professional team.
    • Ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
    • Create a positive and inclusive work environment.
    • Support with overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies and procedures, including child protection issues and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.
    • Collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies.
2 Childcare and Education:
    • Implement a high-quality curriculum, supporting with planning to ensure each child is working towards the early learning goals.
    • To participate in the key person system.
    • Foster a love for learning through creative and engaging activities.
    • Promote a safe and stimulating inclusive environment where children are able to flourish.
3 Staff Development:
    • Encourage continuous professional development.
4 Parent and Community Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with parents and families, adopting our focus on family values.
    • Support with parent meetings, events, and workshops.
    • Collaborate with local community resources.
Qualifications:
  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Ready to take on a leadership role within an early-years setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
  • Passion for child development and education.
