Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Matron in EPOD (ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology and Dermatology) directorate. As Deputy Matron you will work alongside Matron for Ophthalmology and Matron for ENT, Plastics and Dermatology in ensuring quality of care provision across the directorate.The post holder should be able to demonstrate sound consistent leadership and will be expected to deputise for the Matrons across EPOD directorate.Responsibilities include

  • Supporting the Matrons in maintaining the delivery and quality of services provided including, setting of nursing standards, leadership of the team and patient experience.
  • Co-ordinating all aspects of clinical governance, risk management and patient safety.
  • Promote a positive learning environment where lessons are learnt and changes implemented to ensure a quality service working in partnership with the Directorate Manager and Matrons
  • Ensuring environmental standards and cleanliness are maintained in line with national and Trust Standards across the Directorate.
