  • Helping people understand dementia and how to cope with day to day living whilst preparing for the future.
  • Offering support to your clients whether this is in the clients own home, out in the community, face to face, phone, letter or email.
  • You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals.
  • Empowering individuals living with dementia to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives, making informed choices about their own life.
  • Networking and building meaningful relationships with a wide range of local organisations, promoting Alzheimers Society services to help people with a diagnosis to get referred to the service as early as possible.
About you
  • An ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentiality is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service.
  • Excellent person centred and non judgemental communication approach and active listening skills.
  • Strong organisational to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
  • Ideally some experience of coordinating others such as volunteers.
  • Passionate about putting people affected by dementia at the heart of everything you do, to make our service the best it can be.
  • Great networking and influencing skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Able to travel independently.
  • An understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers.
