Job Description

ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED COLLECTIONS ADVISOR OR CREDIT CONTROLLERHAVE YOU MANAGED A TEAM PREVIOUSLYREED are excited to be working with a client in the Newcastle area, looking for anexperienced Credit Control Team Leaderto join their team.

  • Support the team through regular 1:1’s, review workloads & escalations, time & attendance and ensuring holiday cover.
  • Chase outstanding debt from 10 days to over 100 days on a dual fuel portfolio to exceed various cash collection targets.
  • Work on a ledger of 300+ accounts, using a methodical approach to analysing debt in order to prioritise customers correctly.
  • Make and receive large volumes of high-quality calls (target 35+ average per day) to maximise cash collection.
  • Take responsibility to gather and understand information regarding customers and their contracts, to decipher reasons for non-payment and be able to negotiate mutually satisfactory conclusions.
  • Apply logic and common sense when solving problems, including issues regarding liability of debts
  • Apply effective decision making to ensure correct credit action is taken to progress each case
  • Ensure collection procedures are administered in accordance with company & departmental policies.
  • As an experienced team member, provide first-line escalation from Credit Reps for more difficult issues or customers.
  • Help mentor and assist the team and development of individuals by sharing knowledge of the gas and electricity markets and also internal processes
  • Use knowledge and experience of Utilities to take ownership of escalation of a wide range of queries.
  • Drive interdepartmental relationships with other departments and give constructive feedback to help them eradicate errors and resolve queries in order to improve collection potential.
  • Identify accounts for escalation and submit proposals to Team Manager for further action.
  • Focus on converting customers to Direct Debit payment and assist in pushing the team’s conversion rate.
  • Timely completion of departmental process controls & assistance in MI.
  • Provide cover for Team Manager when required.
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies and reporting any issues or incidents immediately.
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am-5pm, 35 hours per weekThis role will offer hybrid working after your 3 month probation - 3 days in the office, 2 days at homeSalary: £30-33k(Depending on experience) - up to 20% bonus on your salary per annumIf youre interested in this position and have experience, please apply now!
