Job Description

The RoleWe are looking for a university student/part time writer. This is a new, additional role that will work within our Marketing Team in Newcastle upon Tyne. Writing is carried out by various people in the team and your role will mostly involve writing contentto improve our websites (nigelwright.com) search engine optimisation. You will receive plenty of support and direction.The role is for 2 days (7.5 hours/day) each week and pays £10/hour. We will fit your available hours around your timetable where possible but are hoping that you can work between TuesdayThursday in our city centre office in Grey Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.This is so you can work alongside other members of the Marketing team. Please state your availability when applying.

  • Producing well-written copy across a broad range of content for our markets in the UK, Europe and America (all in English).
  • Content length and topics will be varied and interesting. Length is generally 5001500 words in each article about aspects of our business, as well as how we help clients.
  • Content will be used for optimised web pages, case studies, etc. and reach audiences across the world.
  • You will prepare types of content by thinking creatively by yourself as well as hearing experiences from Recruitment Consultants, for you to base the content upon. Some online research is likely too. The role will also involve re-writing content to improveit.
  • Previous experience of writing for businesses is not required. All training will be provided. We do not expect you to know about our business.
Your Ideal Skills
  • Excellent written English with great spelling and grammar.
  • Keeping focused on meeting deadlines whilst producing high-quality content.
  • Ability to keep the audience in mind when writing content and tailoring it to its publishing media (website, brochure, pitch, etc).
  • You will be able to communicate to a business audience in a non-salesy way.
