Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Insurance Claims Handler to join a long established and highly regarded insurance brokerage in their Newcastle office.On offer will be an excellent salary dependent on experience and level of qualification along with an attractive benefits package. There will be the option to work from home for highly experienced and qualified candidates who live out of region. You willalso be provided with study support should you wish to work towards further industry qualifications.This role would best suit a Claims Handler within a brokerage, loss adjuster or an insurance company, provided you hold commercial experience.Key accountabilities:

  • To act as Senior Claims handler within a broker with national coverage handling all types of commercial insurance claims including motor, property, some commercially connected private clients and agricultural claims to boot.
  • To act quickly and efficiently liaising with all parties and the insurance company ensuring smooth and speedy settlement.
  • Delivering a proactive and client focused service to clients at all times.
  • Fostering good relations with insurance companies, loss adjusters and third party suppliers
Skills required
  • Experience handling commercial claims including motor, property and liability.
  • Experience obtaining information from clients via telephone & email
  • Confident customer skills - both written and oral
  • Honed negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers
  • Good organisation
  • Knowledge of Word/Excel with ideally experience using OpenGI broking software, but this is not essential.
  • Insurance qualifications - Ideally you will be Cert CII progressing towards Dip CII or above.
