Job Description

Our Client:An engineering company with 50+ clients across various industries, including Aero, Auto, Nuclear, Oil & Gas. With a passion for excellence, quality, customer-focus and internal progression, theyre looking for Operators, Setter/Operators and Programmers.They provide a clear development programme and progression plan so that regardless of the level youre currently at, this is an excellent opportunity to progress your career and develop your machining skills.Your Role:

  1. Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  2. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine accessories for each job.
  3. Program and edit CNC machine code to optimise production processes.
  4. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
  5. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
  6. Perform in-process inspections and use measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  7. Collaborate with the engineering team to address design and manufacturing challenges.
  8. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including materials used and machine settings.
  9. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to create a secure working environment.
You:
  1. Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with a minimum of 2 years in precision machining.
  2. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  3. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and the ability to edit programs as needed.
  4. Expertise in setting up and operating CNC milling and turning machines.
  5. Familiarity with a variety of materials, including metals and plastics.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  9. Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
