Job Description

Cloud Solutions Architect - AWS, Newcastle, £80-100K + 10% Bonus + £5,400 Car Allowance + Bens. You must have a background as a Cloud Solutions Architect with strong experience of AWS. Ideally AWS certified you will have some experience of Oracle E-BusinessSuite, large scale ERP solutions or similar - Oracle Fusion, SAP, MS-Dynamics AX etc. You should have been involved in the delivery of solutions at some level within a multi-supplier, multi-year, multi-release environment.Preferred industry sectors - Construction, Engineering, Banking, Manufacturing or Logistics. The role:*Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud environments and applications for the organisation with technical teams in service and project delivery teams, predominantly in AWS.*Understanding business objectives of the organisation and matching solutions to facilitate those objectives.*Producing appropriate design outputs to support our technical delivery teams and help us ensure we able to offer improved levels of service.*Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including internal technical teams and our business users on cloud solutions, to help with the delivery of projects.*Moving archaic systems into the cloud for more efficiency within the organisation, as part of our digital transformation.*Keeping cloud environments secure and preventing downtime or security breaches.*Transferring data and internal processes to cloud architecture.*Keeping data leakage and downtime to an absolute minimum.*Keeping up to date on best practices in cloud computing and recommending improvements to our cloud infrastructure. *Communicate.*Making cloud hardware and software recommendations, as part of contributing to higher level architecture and strategy, peer reviewing content, and developing our long term roadmaps.Your experience / background:*Youll have extensive experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining business applications and critical infrastructure inside leading cloud solutions. Youll have designed and built advanced cloud-based solutions and migrated existing workloadsto the cloud, with a particular focus on data infrastructure such as Data Lakes and microservices based architectures.*Youll have hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying cloud applications, and have experience of one of the following at least: AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP, with associated Professional Solutions Architect certifications, and having delivered complexsolutions within a multi-supplier, multi-year, and/or multi-release environment.TECHNOLOGY SKILLSGiven our focus, AWS skills of interest would include:*Lambda (Python, C# or GoLang)*Redshift*AWS SAM*AWS Networking*EC2*ECS*EKSAs an organisation we also extensively use Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Autodesk, Bentley and BMC technologies and any experience of these, and equivalent skills to the above, is acceptable. This Cloud Solutions Architect - AWS role is a hybrid position based in Newcastle and pays c£80-100K base + 10% Bonus, £5,400 Car Allowance + bens.
