Job Description

Cloud Solutions Architect Location: Newcastle upon TyneSalary: £45,000 - £60,000Type: PermanentThis role is a perfect step up for someone who is an experience in the field of cloud technologies. This technically advanced company are looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join a team wo are passionate about public cloud technologies. This team are looking for someone who is happy to be in a fast-paced environment, consistently working with new and emerging technologies and work closely with their partners and vendors to ensure top class cloud solutions. Having exceptional customer service skills will be essential to the role whilst delivering technical architecture.You will be taking a consultative approach regarding the early stages of the cloud conversations with the customers. This will involve leading consultancy exercises and acting as a gateway to ensure successful transitions to the delivery teams. In the role, you will have the freedom to explore different solutions for clients to find the best possible direction. You will develop your technical skills by supporting new challenges and technologies. This opportunity will open endless career options for you.Key responsibilities include:

  • Pre-sales responsibilities in new business opportunities
  • Act as an industry expert in vendor, marketing, and industry events
  • Work with clients on end-end solutions
  • Documentation of business and system requirments
  • Assisting support and delivery departments through appropriate escalation to resolve technical issues
  • To provide clear and documented handover of architected solutions into delivery teams.
  • Ability to stay up to date with new and emerging technologies
  • To provide and deliver training content for both internal employees and clients.

    • Job requirments:
  • Strong experience working in a cloud or Infrastructure based role- with Azure, Microsoft 365 or AWS.
  • A good level of IT and business knowledge and an ability to communicate this to the appropriate party
  • Proven knowledge of solution architecture
  • Ability to think clearly, and to write clear documentation, which is sufficiently detailed, unambiguous and complete.
  • Proven ability to deliver, manage and monitor results.
  • Lead technical workshops to understand the requirements of our clients
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, supporting income generation and securing repeat business.
  • Willingness to travel to remote client sites as required.
    • Knowledge in the following areas will advantageous
  • Azure SQL (PaaS), Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Automation and WebApps.
  • AWS Services such as Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch
  • Networking topologies including switching, VLAN’s, routing and remote access and various switching layers.
  • Site-to-Site VPN configuration from on-prem hardware firewalls to AWS or Azure VPN.
  • Any experience with cloud backup solutions (e.g. Cloudberry, Azure Backup, Cloud Endure).
