Job Description

CompanyNigel Wright are delighted to be working with a market leading business who supply and install specialist products into major clients and operators across a varied customer base including Water, Telecoms, Power, Electricity and Renewables.RoleThis role is mainly internal sales rather than field based andwill be a mix of account management and New Business Development, following up on incoming leads, account management and growth of existing customers as well as a proactive approach to New BusinessDevelopment. The product is generally part of the Civils work so customers will includedesign houses, contractors and end users / installers of the product, utility customers.

  • A key area of focus will be to ensure that all leads / enquiries are followed up in a timely manner – being the first point of contact for customers and following leads through from initial enquiry to order placement – the ability to take a consultativeapproach, understand customer issues, provide solutions and build a long term relationship to win additional work and projects will be key.
  • The role will be responsible for the full range of on shore products, the ability to identify new projects, map out from the asset owner who the main contractors and subcontractors are and identify who in this chain will be responsible for the purchaseand installationofproducts will be key to success in the role.
  • Looking back over past customer lists to identify new opportunities.
  • Tracking projects to identify opportunities, researching and qualifying new leads & projects using all available sources.
  • Analysing competitor activities to identify new customers.
  • Working with others in the team and external marketing agency to help build the full sales strategy.
  • Attending events & conferences
  • Demonstrate FABs of the products.
  • Identifying opportunities to secure additional revenue from existing customers.
  • Working closely with all departments across the business from quote team, technical team, installation team to ensure accurate and timely response to customer enquiries.
  • Identify upselling opportunities.
  • Collect and analyse data to aid with forecasting and reporting.
  • Build long term customer relationships.
  • Capable of asking relevant technical questions to get the right information from customers.
Experience
  • Experience in a sales and business development position, ideally with a background of pitching similar or complementary products & services within the renewable energy, power generation, utilities & construction sector. (Although we areopen to candidateswith an excellent BD approach and a technical product background with the ability to learn and understand newproducts and services)
  • A proven ability to identify and progress leads and opportunities.
  • Experienced in analysing and interpreting sales data.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record in developing relationships with key accounts.
  • Experience in a similar role where there is an emphasis on the coordination of sales enquiries and quotations.
  • Upselling and cross selling where appropriate to maximise revenue streams from both existing customers and inbound and web-based sales enquiries.
  • Delivering first class customer service to new and existing clients, responding to all enquiries and queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • It is important to stress that this role will mainly be an office based B2B consultative sales/BD role, not a heavily micro managed outbound cold calling type environment.
