Job Description

Interaction Recruitment are currently representing a global Engineering company in Newcastle who are looking to add an experienced Business Development Manager to their expanding team on a Permanent basis.Company Benefits:

The Role:As Business Development Manager you will play a vital role representing the companys product offering and reputation as part of the BD team on a day-to-day basis, both in the office and on national and international business trips.
  • Managing New & Existing opportunities to maximise Business Objectives while engaging potential customers.
  • Attending major conferences and exhibitions (internationally) representing the Companys products, capabilities, and reputation.
  • Forward thinking & maintaining business pipeline.
  • Pursuing sales opportunities to successful closure.
  • Creating and executing nominated campaign plans in partnership with other functions.
  • Meeting sales & order intake targets.
  • Working alongside Business Support Manager to ensure the Request for Quotations (RFQ) accurately reflect the customers requirements.
  • Proposal input; including liaison with Commercial Function relating to costing models and contract details.
  • Customer relationship management to ensure the satisfaction of the client from initial contact through to delivery of order.
Candidate Experience:
  • Experienced in Business Development & Sales for £-Multi Million contracts within an Engineering or Technical environment.
  • Engineering or Technical degree- desirable.
  • The ability to work with and understand technical specifications to speak confidently to customers and to project and engineering team members is essential.
  • Experience in Military or Defence sales highly desirable.
  • A sound business acumen is essential, and an understanding of commercial principles are required.

  • Committed to travelling both Nationally & Internationally to attend Meetings, Conferences & Exhibitions.
  • Must also be able to operate day-to-day with little direct supervision and to make timely, rational decisions when necessary.
  • Able to work both individually & as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational & communicational skills.
  • Experience of working with CRM systems and a proficiency in working with Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • Hold an in-date Passport.
