Job Description

We are looking for a talented Bid Manager for an important role in our unique and growing business.Urban Foresight is the UKs leading place-based innovation consultancy. We work with ambitious clients around the world on projects that improve lives, protect the environment, and boost local economies.This permanent role will be based in one of our offices (Dundee or Newcastle) in line with your preferences.The roleYou will be responsible for managing all aspects of our bidding processes. This includes:

  • identifying and tracking opportunities
  • reviewing documentation to understand client requirements, terms, and our commercial liabilities
  • ensuring that our bids are accurate, high quality, and delivered on time
  • developing our bid resources
  • collating and sharing performance data, client feedback, and examples of good practice
  • supporting business development activities across the company
  • representing the business and managing relationships on active procurement frameworks.
You will benefit from close working with our senior managers, tenders administrator, marketing managers, and graphic designers.You should apply if youre:

Skills and experienceYou will have experience of working in a bid team and bid writing, preferably in a similar professional services context.Essential skills include:
  • high attention to detail
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • deadline driven, with effective time management skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • proven bid team involvement.
The ideal candidate would have:
  • relevant knowledge and enthusiasm for the work that we do
  • experience of playing a central role in bid teams and working collaboratively to meet tight deadlines
  • ability to demonstrate effective bid writing skills and a track record of successful proposals
  • knowledge of UK procurement practice and standards (ideally in the public sector)
  • working knowledge of terms and conditions for professional service contracts
