Job Description

Assurance and Risk ManagerLocation: Newcastle Upon TyneSalary: £59,000 annuallyWorking: Hybrid / Agile workingPermanentSellick Partnership is working with one of our longest standing clients within the public sector on an exciting new role. We are looking to recruit an assurance and risk manager in which you will have the opportunity be a part of a large public sector organisationwho are committed to their great work culture and exceptional employee benefits.About the role:As an assurance and risk manager you will hold responsibility and management of a team of five internal auditors to conduct compliance, frameworks and governance throughout businesses as needed. The assurance and risk manager will also have a good generalknowledge of insurance with the ability to put this in place for the business and adhere to principals. The agile hybrid working for the assurance and risk manager really gives an opportunity for excellent work life balance but you will be required to attendthe office occasionally for the business needs as requested by your manager. A UK driving license is preferred but not essential.Main duties:

  • Lead an independent internal audit service and help improve operations
  • Lead and co-ordinate fraud framework and support the business in
  • Manage a small team of internal auditors
  • Creating assignments, planning and leading audits with good quality and high standards
  • Risk management aligning with frameworks and governance
Essential criteria:
  • CCAB qualified or qualified by relevant experience
  • Experience within public sector or manufacturing (desireable)
  • Be customer focused
  • Strong financial background
  • Excellent knowledge of internal audit and standards
  • Good communication skills written and verbal
