Job Description

About the roleJackson Hogg are partnered with a well-established construction organisation. They have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Tax and Statutory Reporting Team Member to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Newcastle upon Tyne.Role Purpose:As assistant to the Corporate Tax and Statutory Reporting Manager you will deal with UK corporate tax matters including the preparation and submission of the corporate tax returns for the group, working with advisors to prepare a sizable RDEC claim and assistingwith the preparation of the year end corporate tax figures for the Group accounts. You will also be responsible for the preparation of the Groups subsidiary statutory accounts for the UK and assisting with any audit queries.As a Corporate Tax and Statutory Reporting Team Member you will:

  • Be responsible for the preparation and submission of the corporate tax returns for the UK group using OneSource software;
  • Assist with all related disclosure elements in the corporate tax computations including transfer pricing, interest restriction, loss review, CFC review and capital allowances;
  • Work with the RDEC advisors and assist with the claim;
  • Be responsible for the preparation and review of the Groups UK subsidiary statutory accounts using OneSource software and assist with any audit queries;
  • Assist with the preparation of the UK tax figures for the consolidated and statutory accounts;
  • Support the Tax Function in managing the Tax strategy for the group, including assisting with SAO reporting;
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries on UK corporate tax matters;
  • Provide corporate tax training to finance and accounting staff;
  • Assist in responding to queries from HMRC;
  • Liaise with external advisors;
  • Maintain the Group structure for the worldwide group;
  • Complete several Office of National Statistics Surveys.
Personal Qualities and Experience:
  • Attained a minimum of 2:1 in a finance degree or AAT/ATT qualified. You could be studying to achieve chartered accountant or tax practitioner (ACA, ACCA, CIOT or equivalent).
  • You will have some experience in tax and accounting from an advisory firm or a corporate organisation.
  • Possess the ability to proactively manage your workload and work independently
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of people
  • Experience of divisional reporting, Excel, Oracle, HFM and OneSource would be beneficial
