Agriculture Support Specialist who has good knowledge of farming practices, soil and soil health products and understands the crop growing process with excellent administrative, organisational, customer service, business development andsales skills is required for a well-established company that provides a wide arrange of products to the farming industry.SALARY: NegotiableLOCATION: Newcastle Upon Tyne, North East EnglandJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Agriculture Support Specialistwho has good knowledge of farming practices, soil and soil health products and understands the crop growing process with excellent administrative, organisational, customer service,business development and sales skills.This is a wide-ranging role that requires a large amount of flexibility and self-motivation as you will be providing a start to finish service to the farming industry.Working as the Agriculture Support Specialist you will provide product and specialist digital software functional support, manage sales and support Soil and Soil Health Products.As the Agriculture Support Specialist you will also provide administration and sales support for the Rural Consultancy Team.ABOUT THE COMPANYThe Company is a leading supplier of agronomy advice, seed, crop protection products and precision farming services.   • Provide Agronomist support on product knowledge and services offered for Precision, Rural Consultancy and Soil Health
  • Process precision data, including variable rate fertiliser and seed maps, provide variable rate recommendations and create prescription files
  • Develop new business and seek out new customers whilst maintaining current business
  • Organise precision services in field, which will include maintaining a good relationship with soil sampling contractors
  • Learn and maintain knowledge on application machinery and feed knowledge back to Technical Manager to ensure protocol documentation is kept up to date and accurate
  • Have a good understanding of decision support software to be able to guide Agronomists and farmers to utilise platforms
  • Provide a high level of customer support throughout your area, including face to face customer meetings, both individually and in large groups where necessary, providing growers with result interpretation where required
  • Ensure jobs are invoiced in a timely manner and provide support with supplier invoice reconciliation
  • Attend shows and events as well as internal trials open days to promote / showcase our products and services
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Good knowledge of soil and soil health products, fertilisers used within the farming industry
  • IT literate with good knowledge using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and other software packages
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Business development, sales and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of environmental concerns and issues, EU directives and government policies in regards to the farming industry
