With an annual turnoverof more than £120 million we take the business of fulfilling our customers needs very seriously.This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Transport Supervisor (office based) with International Decorative Surfaces. Where you will assist the Branch Manager in the profitable and professional operation of all vehicles, while building and maintaining successful working relationships with customers and staff,to achieve maximum sales potential and customer service. To comply with all branch and H&S procedures.As a Transport Supervisor member you will be involved in:

  • Planning of delivery routes made in line with customer requirements
  • Ensure driver and vehicle security at all times
  • Ensure daily checks are carried out on all vehicles in line with Company procedures
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and reports are produced in a timely manner
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is consistently maintained
  • Ensure all customer sales and orders are delivered efficiently
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels at all times
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge
  • Work to identify opportunities and sales leads and feed back to the branch accordingly
  • Monitor returns and damages so that shrinkage is kept at a minimum
  • Manage all aspects of driver performance, e.g. ensure all disciplinary matters are escalated to the relevant line manager
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures (HR, Health & Safety, Business Controls, etc)
  • Participate in stock take duties as required
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment

  • Previous transport planning and customer service experience is essential
  • Proven supervisory skills are preferable
  • Relevant product knowledge preferred, ideally gained within a similar industry
  • Fork lift experience desirable
  • Knowledge of transport legislation desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills, e.g. stock management etc.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is essential
